If you still have issues this is the guide on how to fix it. I also guess the Asus bot considers uninstalling their program and using a 3rd party open source solution "solved". I guess unless you want an RGB cable hanging out of your DIMM RGB heat spreader, this is the only other way to do it. A lot of people ended up with bricked DIMMs in the early days of G.Skill's own RGB control program because they were overwriting SPD data on the DIMMs. This buss was not designed to have RGB data constantly running through it. I think this is due to the way the LEDs on RGB RAM are controlled - over the SMB Buss. Aura and AC are also hit or miss with RGB RAM detection. RGB RAM detection usually works but it's sometimes hit or miss. My experience has been that both do a good job of recognizing the mobo LEDs and ARGB ports. Signal RGB is another option though it is very different than OpenRGB. I tried OpenRGB and it worked pretty well, and it keeps getting better.

I refuse to install any of these programs. Corsair iCue is a buggy, bloated mess as well. It's ridiculous and sad that these programs have been this bad for this long.

I am also a member of the "I had to reinstall Windows to get things working after trying to use Aura and/or Armoury Crate" club. I have been through it with both of them. I have no clue on how to achieve that or if I'm even thinking correctly in the first place, so please forgive my lack of knowledge.Armoury Crate (AC) and Aura are just terrible pieces of software. I was my silent mode to actually go completely quiet, my balanced mode to be the silent mode that I used to be playing on, and my turbo mode to be the main mode that goes all out for performance. So now my confusion kicked in big time, cuz now I want to optimize my plans properly. So I tested it by choosing the turbo mode, letting the fans ramp up to the max and then editing the high performance windows power plan to mimic the power saving plan to see if the fans will chill down but it didn't. However that wasn't the case, I found out on a 2 year old post that armory crate plans would affect variables that were outside the windows power plan such as the boost clocks and fan speeds alongside some other variables. So my basic understanding was that these profiles in armory crate just changed the windows power plan. So it was the ideal mode for me to game on since I live with roommates and so I can't ramp up the fans most of the time. I proceeded to game on the silent mode (which was the power saving mode in the windows power plan) and the result was that I lost a small amount of performance but got much more stable thermals and on top of that my fans were at around 3000rpm. I changed the maximum processing power to 99% on both plugged and battery while keeping the minimum processing power to 5% on both plugged and batter.

Then I started changing up some stuff in the power saving power plan. When I selected silent it switched to the power saving mode. Which made me think that there is no difference between balanced and turbo.

I then changed the plan to turbo mode and found that it was still on the same high performance mode. When I checked the power plan in windows, I found that it was set on high performance which made the CPU boost to 4ghz+ causing the fans to go crazy.

Initially I left the laptop at balanced(aka performance) mode, and for some reason the fans we always around 3500-4500 rpm even if It was idle. So I've had this laptop for almost 5 months now. So I'm not sure if I don't understand what's going on or is there something ongoing which I don't know.
